USB-C-Only Flash Drives

Our pick

SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C 1TB

Choose the SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C 1TB for carrying a large file collection in a small, light drive.12

Why this one

  • Its 1TB capacity matches the largest DataTraveler Max here, while its stated longest dimension is 18.54 mm and its weight is 3 g, versus 82.17 mm and 12 g for the Kingston 1TB.1234
  • The five-year warranty matches the Kingston 1TB’s cover, so choosing the smaller drive does not shorten that stated warranty term.35

The alternatives

Other contenders

  • Kingston DataTraveler Max 1TB

Choose the Kingston DataTraveler Max 1TB for its higher advertised read ceiling of 1,000 MB/s on a USB 3.2 Gen 2 host; the SanDisk is rated up to 400 MB/s over Gen 1, and these peak figures do not establish sustained write performance.13

  • Kingston DataTraveler Max 512GB

Choose the Kingston DataTraveler Max 512GB if that capacity is enough and you want a sliding cover over its USB-C connector.37

Buying advice

  • Check the device’s operating system and USB protocol as well as its USB-C socket; connector shape alone does not establish the transfer mode or device support.135
